HI ALL, i have a polo pony who has started to kick at other ponies while playing, any ideas as to how I can stop it or is she finished as a polo pony.

I don;t think that she has to stop her career as a polo pony. When at events tie a red ribbon on her tail . Every horse person knows that a red ribbon on the tail means the horse is a kicker. If you keep her at home I would suggest putting her in a field by herself. And if you stable her then put protection on the walls to prevent damage to your stable and your horse. Also if you are comfortable with putting your horse in with another I would suggest putting him/her in with a large ALPHA gelding. He will certainly straighten your horse up. Believe me we have a kicker to but it all worked out. Worn people around you and work through it becuase kicking us unexceptable. If she/he continues call your vet and ask for a simple routine check at its back . There may be something pinching or your saddle does not fit him close enough. Thus making his back sore.

i may not have a horse but i have worked with them and rode on 2 times i agree with one up top she is right and even if the ALPHA seems to hurt or upset your horse stay at a friends and stop worrying
