What kind of horse should i get...i need some input

Ok so i'm new at this game. I'm a huge horse lover and personality is huge but i know that there are A LOT of breeds out there so i would like some input on what is out there and what to look for. I have horse experience from working at a ridding stable for 8 years ...please help hehe

From your sigh in I would guess you are 14 and looking to get your first horse. Honestly, unless your skill level is such that you are a winner at the shows and know what you want to do, the most important thing in a first horse is reliability.

My first horse was a grade gelding over 10 years old. He would tolerate a lot of things and I did do a lot with him.. jumping, trail riding, some western riding etc. As my skill level rose and I became more focused on a particular area of training and riding I chose a horse more suitable for that discipline.

Most of my horses have been grade horses that were physically and/or mentally capable of the thing I wanted to train.
I did have few horses with papers as well who I trianed in a specific area to do a specific job.

i am actually looking at a buckskin quarter horse....i love to barrel race and i love the makings of the buckskin...if anyone has any input i am 21 and have 7+ years experience with ridding and such
