Dear Interested Citizen,

Thank you very much for your participation in Pinal County's efforts to update the Zoning Ordinance. It was heartening to see the level of interest because public participation will result in a much better final product. We regret that there was confusion over what the draft document meant to existing property owners. That said; please understand that your continued participation, questions and input are very valuable to us.

We have prepared the attached frequently asked questions document to address many of the questions that came up at the public workshops. We invite you to review it and share it with others. This document is also available on the County’s website along with notes from the workshops.

We will be holding more workshops in January. In the past, we have held meetings at local schools and have not had much attendance from folks with rural interests. To try to reach more people, we are planning on a number of smaller meetings closer to where people live. These small meetings will allow real conversations to occur and make it easier to talk about new ideas.

We are asking anyone who has a space where we could hold one of these meetings to let us know. It does not have to be fancy, just a place where people can be out of the weather and have a place to sit. Please respond to this e mail if you can volunteer a space for an evening meeting in January.

We want to discuss ideas for rural lifestyle preservation. Part of Pinal County's uniqueness is its diversity and rural roots. We have an opportunity to preserve and protect that heritage through good planning and public involvement. Again, we thank you for your interest and enthusiasm.

We will continue to update you on the Zoning Ordinance update through these e mails. You are also welcome to visit the County’s website: co.pinal.az.us, under Planning and Development, to see all available information.

Thanks again,
Dave Kuhl
Pinal County Planning Director
