American Paint Horse Foundation reaches goal

In only six months, the American Paint Horse Foundation raised $25,000 to start a therapeutic riding program for children and adults so they can experience the healing power of horses. Therapeutic riding has proven to be effective for both physical and mental rehabilitation.
Pledges came from the Oklahoma Paint Horse Club, Ford Show Horses of Las Vegas, Nevada, and individual donors.
The foundation also launched a Heritage Tree, which will be located inside the APHA headquarters at 2800 Meacham Blvd. in Fort Worth. The memorial tree includes a bronze trunk and leaves, which bear the names of horses, loved ones or farms and ranches.
