P & Z Commission Meeting July 23, 2009
It was a very strange meeting. Technically we won but the opposition may have inflicted a major wound.
Approximately 220 people filled the auditorium to capacity. The opponents were one short as one was converted and spoke in favor of the TA. But the damage came as the Chairman Mark Pugmire and Commissioner Jerry Aster bought into the oppositions' concerns for the intensity on one acre parcels. Bruce Lundquist, the Laveen Architect, may have succeeded if P & Z opens up a new amendment restricting the number of animals (will include dogs, cats etc) per acre. In nearly all other counties and municipalities in the state, there is a limit of 2 horses on one acre properties.
It's a little scary right now.
