HB2464 IS DEAD!
HOUSE BILL 2464
House Bill 2464 died today in Third Read. Thank you to the 18 Arizona Senators who supported Arizona State Parks today and joined Arizona State Parks Foundation in opposing this damaging bill. Special thanks to Senators Steve Pierce, Carolyn Allen, John Nelson, Barbara Leff and Jay Tibshraeny.
Celebrating a Victory!
Thanks to the many voices
It takes grass-roots advocacy to achieve success in the legislative process. We appreciate your attention to the issues that impact, positively and negatively, Arizona State Parks. Your voice made a difference in this battle to keep revenue generated by Lake Havasu State Park in the Arizona State Parks system. Thank you!
Lake Havasu State Park is a linchpin in the state park system and is anticipated to generate $1.1 million in revenue and approx. $424,000 in net revenue next fiscal year (2011). Net revenue created by this park funds the operation of numerous other state parks in the system. HB2464 would have redirected the net revenue to the City of Lake Havasu and the loss of those funds to the ASP system would have created long term damage and, most likely, unintended consequences.
