sway backed gelding

I have an older gelding (approx. 24) who is quite sway backed. He's been with our riding program for the last 8 years and, though he was never very straight through his topline, his back has dropped enough for me to be concerned with how heavy a rider I should put on him. He has big withers and I use two pads (one a cutaway)...any suggestions? Should I limit the size/weight of his riders?

Does he walk funny?? is he still able to go through all the gait transitions?? if he can without any trouble or other problems.. i prolly wouldnt worry too much but if it is botherin him i would prolly keep his riders under 150.. hope ya find out whta to do!! hope it helps!!
