Not crazy, so long as you are expeireinced. I got a 1/5 year old un broke (couldnt even catch im-no halter!) Arabian who is now 5 and is the most gentle horse youve ever seen, not to mention he has accumulated an amazing show acreer. What breed is this horse?

well thats better, their dispositions are much better than what i had to deal with! Well, if you have alot of experience, and preferably some help, along with the time and facilities, you should be just fine!

I think you'll be fine. I had a 14 month old (now 19) never been touched. Sweetest horse you'd ever meet. Just remember lots of attention and lots of sweet feed!

Yea...i think you could just go out and talk to it every day and just let it know who u are..and then you can just start fooling with it and get it used to you. THen i think it would probably let you do alot more with it. Then if your not experienced enough you could get a trainer to come help.

If you have to ask than you probably should NOT do this.
Unless your rich and can have him completely handelled/started by professionals.
Have you tested his temperment out?
have you ever spent any time with him?
Are you experianced?
You have a lot of questions to ask youself.
I hope not to offend you. I am blunt, I know. Why do you want this horse? Are you ready for the long road ahead? Is the "need to ride" an issue with you?
I had a GREAT little colt for a while, he was even a stallion. I enjoyed our time learning togather but I couldn't ride him. That frustrated me, I missed riding. He was good too, he did whatever I asked. He gave 100.15 %. And his mind was solid, there was no "freak" in him. But there was so much to teach him it just took time. He was imprinted too.
the point is; if you are eager to ride, and don't have a horse that rides allready, hold out for one who has been properly started.

ya i got a qh same way basically, and he turned out fine. Broke him myself even, but still got some temperment issues, nothing major. He turned out not to be gun, car, horn, light shy but is people shy. and to think when I got him he was afraid of his own shadow or seemed.
I think with time and luck and persistance u will succeed. Look for a bonding between u first, if he shows interest in u, u might got a chance. He got to pick u as much as u him. qh's are the best and highly intelligent. and quick learners with long mems. but stubborn at times lol swear mine's half mule of pure stubborness lol they are very affectionate, emotional and receptive. Short legged but strong, quick on the turns, and great personalities, might decide to take u for a ride instead u taking him for a ride lol.
another qh i had experience with, wouldn't let me clean his stall without giving and receiving 5 hugs, and if I ignored him, he'd get mad and nudge me harder lol. This one likes to kiss for mint candies and treats. and they both gave thanks for their meals daily by nuzzling the hand.
being ur getting this colt, he might turn out to be a one person horse tho, i mean he might imprint on u so much ur the only one he lets near. :D

I'd say - if you feel comfortable enough- try it. A green horse can be a great horse because they don't know anything anyway. Some of them aren't affraid of anything! They normally won't reach they're own stubborness til they're around 7 yrs old. So work them the way ya want often.

If You Have The Time A Devotion To Put Into The Horse Than I Would Say Go For It. It Shouldnt Be To Bad The Only Thing Is That The Horse Must Learn To Trust You And It Must Also Know That You Are In Control. If You Have That Then It Wont Be Hard And I Wouldnt Call You Crazy
