In 1970, there were very few Tennessee Walking Horses here in AZ, so Heather and her dad decided to promote the breed. From 1971 to 1982 she trained them as a professional, which included showing, training, teaching riding, breeding and raising foals.
Since 1982 Heather remained fully involved with the breed serving two terms with the breed organization and registry, helping others with their horses, judging shows, participating in horse shows, teaching riding, evaluating horses, and serving on the board of directors of their local club, the Tennessee Walking Horse Enthusiasts of Arizona.
In the mid 1970’s, Heather became involved with the Peruvian Paso breed and was one of the first Americans certified to judge Peruvians in this country.
She is also a licensed Spotted Saddle Horse inspector. The Spotted Saddle Horse is a gaited breed that is a spotted off-shoot of the TWH. She studied therapeutic recreation in college and worked with handicapped children and horses.
Today, Heather is consulting, advising and teaching in clinics and seminars. And, she’s here at allabouthorses.com for you... and your horse. Because Heather is allabouthorses.
