For Tracey, Thanks so much for the sound advice. I'm going to town tomorrow and will pick a crop for him. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks so much, Leslee.
For Chris, thank you so much . I will try the bend to the outside on the circle! What a great idea! Lin.
Hello Dr. Sales, Thank you so much! I have read so many books and articles online trying to figure out where the bean of smegma was as I was worried that possibly was causing his problems and just had not been able to figure it out; your description was so clear. Thank you so much. Also, thank you for your advice regarding the excess smegma. I will have his vet check it. I really appreciate this service and "All About Horses" is a very wonderful asset to me as a highschool student with limited finances for my horse's medical bills - the website and vet's advice has helped me several times in deciding whether or not it is necessary for the vet to come check things out and the informative answers you give are very much appreciated. Thank you, Patience.
For Dr Jack: "Thank you so much!!! Your advice really helped me!!! Also such a quick response. Thanks!! Shelly"
Hey Mark,
I just wanted to let you know the status of my mare I wrote you about a while back. The one that was crow-hopping. I had to send her to a trainer and now she is a totally different horse. Thanks for your time

Thank you!!! I appreciate the info so much. It really puts my mind a little more to ease. I lost a mare to founder/laminitis back in 2001 and this has scared me to death. I was also unable to get in contact with a vet at the time. Calls were placed to numerous vets in the area and none was returned until many hours later so I was really in a pickle. It was Friday pm sometime between 5pm and 12am when he got into the barn and now it is almost 72 hours later and no ill effects have been noted, not even loose stool. So hopefully he didn't eat as much as I thought. My floors are dirt so it was hard to tell exactly how much was wasted or eaten. Anyway all is well so far but he is still being watched like a hawk and modifications have been made to prevent feed access. Thank you once again. Lisa Diez

I would just like to thank you for all your advice and will be looking into how to get my hay checked here in Greece. Also just to let you know that all the bales are very long, double the size of an English bale and very heavy. Thank you for your advice and your time, Maxine
For Mark
This site is great! I had some concerns with one of my young horses and the advice I got through Mark, the Western Pleasure Trainer has been working good. I want to thank ALL ABOUT HORSES for having this on their web site!! You guys are GREAT!!!
Thanks again, Mitchel

Thanks for the advice. I believe that is the direction my friend will proceed in. The horse is obviously not getting any better and the local vet is over his head.

Dr Sales, thank you very much for your response and your information..and help! It's greatly appreciated. Yes, I will bump up her protein for sure to help her recover from her foal. It was a really dumb situation where the owner of the stable put a stud colt out into the pasture with the other horses by "mistake". Mistakes are accidents, but give me a break. So she was born Aug 2000, bred June 2002 (not even two yet) and foaled May 2003 (not yet three). So my poor little mare has been through a lot. Our saving grace was that she has been on really good pasture the whole time she was pregnant and nursing her foal. I haven't yet started riding her again as she isn't back to the condition I want before she starts working (we moved after the foal was weaned/sold, so she lost weight). A protein supplement is definitely what I am going to get for her, first thing Monday morning. Thanks again, Michelle & Isis.
