Hi Dr Sales (May 2005)
Thank you for your response. We are going to have a closer look at what is in this filly's hard feed. However she has BlueChip (supposed to be an excellent feed and very expensive) and sugar beet daily. As a foal she had a feed specifically for foals to yearlings and as a yearling a feed specifically for yearlings. She doesn't have adlib hay and I think that would be a very good idea, as it will distract her from finding other things. We have considered getting her a horse toy of some description. A horse ball or similar. I don't think she is doing this for nutritional reasons, as she looks a very healthy horse. It seems more like inquisitiveness or a game and not enough sense to stop and let go when she should. She is quite a character. She is wormed regularly and her owner is inclined to buy quality feeds garlic oil etc.anything she needs. We are going to start round penning her soon. Maybe she is bored and perhaps this will help. Will let you know if there are any new developments. Thank you again for your advice.

For Dr Sales (May 2005)
That's great - and has really confirmed my thoughts on the matter and I will have a chat to my vet! I am quite willing to monitor the tendon for heat or swelling (in fact I'm probably hyper aware of any changes verging on the paranoid mother!
Many Thanks for your guidance and quick response.
Sam

Dr. Sales, (May 2005)
Thank you for your response. We have decided to purchase the horse believing that there is risk with any horse purchase that you make and we are aware of the risks with this horse. We have also limited other risks since we are purchasing a horse that we have know for 2 years and will be staying at the same barn with the same trainers. Thank you again!

For Dr Sales (April 2005)
Dear Dr Sales,
Thanks so much for writing the suggestions and me. I have some good news the colt dropped this AM. He is quite large but appears to be fine. This was a first for me and upon rechecking he is 2 weeks premature by my records but appears to be ok. I have been trying to get a vet for almost 2 weeks!
If you know of any horse vets looking to relocate our area is in need and both human and equine population growing at a fast pace!
Thanks so much for taking your time and responding
Kind regards
Karen

For Dawn Green (April 2005)
