Thank you Dr. Schurg, (August 2005)
I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. You've been a big help. It's nice to hear it from an expert like you instead of some girl around the barn who thinks she knows everything.
Hi Dawn, (August 2005)
Thank you for answering my question about head shy, I decided it would be too long a job to take on this horse and he possibly as more under lining faults as he was neglected and I wouldn't know the extent of this so I would rather leave it. But at least I know he's in the best place now and will get a better start in life with whoever takes him on.
Thanks again Paula
Thanks a lot Dr. Sales, (August 2005)
In other words, he probably can't withstand pleasure training demands cause that's what I was training him for and it wasn't hard work, considered to what most pleasure horses in training go through, so probably just a trail riding horse is all he can be used for I'm guessing?

Thanks for replying so quickly. My son and I already know how to ride, but breaking is quite another story. I have an Appaloosa that I've had for about 9 years and she was 7 when I got her but she was already broke. Appreciate you taking the time to write back, Brenda

BL Solution is a supplement formerly known as "Butteless" It is natural supplement of Yucca and Devils Claw. You can purchase it from State Line Tack. It has been very helpful to one our rescues with rotated cannon bones -Beth

Thanks so much for your advice. It makes sense. The way I was doing it, stopping and backing a few steps then walking forward was advice from another trainer and it wasn't working. I will try your way and see if I don't have better luck.
Anyway, I'll be in touch and let you know how the backing goes and I'll probably inquire about your training.
Thanks again.
Julie
