For Joel Wengert (November 2005)
Thank you? It was funny, well not funny? but she had a hard time eating for 24 hours? and the equine dentist came out and pulled a piece of wood that was stuck in the roof of her mouth. He said the bumps were unrelated? but they have been disappearing ever since!!
Thank you, Lori Stottlemyer

For Dr Sales (September 2005)
Thank you so much for your reply. I have never been around horses, so this is all so new to me.
Thanks again,
Macy in NC

For Bill Schurg (October 2005)
Hi, thank you for the great advice you gave me on a question I emailed to you a while back. Not to mention the quick response. But now I've come up with something else that's been on my mind since last winter. ---------------

For Lisa Ross Williams (October 2005)
Lisa -
Thank you! I am working with my veterinarian, but wanted to supplement. I will pick up Vitamin C and Rosehips tomorrow. She is EXTREMELY healthy other than this issue, and has been on a Flax Omega 3/Vitamin supplement for a couple of years, as well as minerals and joint supplements. She seems to be going through the illness very well, but I want to do whatever else I can.

Thank you Dr Sales, the horse was put to sleep last Friday. She started running through fences and walls and went blind.

Dr. Sales....(October 2005)
Things did not turn out for my Sweet Callie and I. The Equine Hospital called me Wednesday morning (Oct. 12) and told me they did not have very good news and that the kindest thing I could do was come up and tell my sweet girl goodbye. They explained to me that even if they kept her in ICU for six days and pulled her through, that she would not have a good quality of life. They said she could go right back into renal failure in six days or six months. Dr. Gold just looked and me and said, "You do not want a poor quality of life for this sweet horse, do you?" I am just heart broken. She was so very special to me and this all happened so fast I just feel like I was in a bad dream. I could see their mouths moving while they were telling me this, but I do not know if I really heard the words. I had no idea she had a bad kidney until this happened. I had her on a low protein diet as I always keep my horses on one when I am not working them hard during the summer months. She did get vitamins EVERY day. Dr. Sales, I have cried for six days. I love my other horse, but this little tiny mare was my pride and joy. I thank you for your time and advice....I wish I could have saved her. Thank you.....Cindi
