For Heather Holmes (July 2006)
Thank you for your help. I have since found that her headstall was too tight putting too much poll pressure. I have since loosened the bit and snugged up the chain a little and everything is working great. I had let her bridle path grow out and never readjusted her bit. Thanks for you time if this doesn't work I will try a wonder bit.

Hello! Thought I'd let you know how my mare is doing: I had my vet take a look & he took a punch biopsy, sending the sample to the lab. It turned out to be a lymphoma, so we are "keeping an eye on it", & as long as it doesn't bother her, we're leaving well enough alone! So pretty good news.
Thanks for your help

Hi again, Dr Sales. (June 2006)
It was not an abscess after all. He had some sort of trauma. Possibly a kick. I buted him for a few days, and the swelling has almost disappeared. He is back to his pain in the ass self!
Thanks for the advice,
Rick

Many thanks for your reply. It does not seem to be edema, but I do notice it seems to be more obvious when she is in season. Anyway, I'm asking my Vet to have a look. Thanks again---Nancy

It was an original puncture. I began giving her injections of white Penicillin yesterday, 40cc. We have soaked it with hot water and have used Furicin to maybe help the puncture drain on the one end that was still slightly open and, the swelling seems to be down some. Today she seems in better spirits and is walking and moving somewhat normally. Her bowel movements seem to be less strained also.
Thank you for your help.
