For Dr Sales (April 2007)
Hello...and thank you again for your very sound advice.
I wrote to you after my mare Velvet fell through the ice into our lake. I am happy to report that I have gone on my trip; and returned...and Velvet is just fine. I did have some butte and used it for a few days before I had to leave. My departure day was one week from the day she took her untimely dip! My husband kept his eye on her and since nothing got worse during my absence, he figured she was out of danger, and would be okay. Upon my return...(2 weeks from her fall) all swelling has disappeared...and Velvet seems as good as ever! I really appreciated you being there at a time when I wasn't sure if this was an absolutely necessary vet call...or a watch it yourself and see call. Having to leave on a trip so soon also made me a little less certain which way to go. Your advice was right on target...and just having my own notions of how to treat her, and what to do, confirmed; made all the difference in my confidence level. We have already come up with a new, and hopefully much more horse safe gate...so I'm hoping she will never be able to "bust out" and go ice-skating again! Perhaps she will give ice more respect in the future! Thanks a million.

Hi Ed, (April 2007)
Thanks so much for an email. I really appreciate your interest. I realize that I don't spend enough time with my horse but there is no way in the world I would sell it. I love him to death and I will go through it. I spend approximately 2 hours Monday thru Friday with him, and then half day Saturday and half day Sunday.
I was introduced to Parelli's Program in Red Bluff, CA where I attended the seminar for two days. I really enjoyed the show. It's great that you have already completed level 2. Congratulations.
I live in California and have some friends who are close to completing level 2 and already have been helping me with the program. Thanks a lot for your offer, though. Good Luck with next levels.
Best wishes, Joanna.

For Dr Kimberly Gryl (April 2007)
Thank you... This does help.

For Janelle Nelson (April 2007)
Thanks for the advice. I have been riding him a lot more and I am more comfortable with him. He is more quiet than most of the geldings I rode. I think it was just mind over matter. (And to stop listening to other people that don’t know the horse) He is great.
Thanks a lot,
Cindy.

You give wonderful advice on everything I was looking for

Thank you for your answer. He seems fine. He is very old and I keep a close watch on him. He does have that heavy curly coat which sheds heavy every spring, but not like this year. The hair seems to be growing back.
It may be natural, but I am a firm believer in Shapley's M-T-G. It works every time. Thank you again and I will have the blood tests run.

For Dr Kimberly Gryl (July 2007)
Thank you for your response. The swelling in my horses’ leg has almost completely gone away and he is walking well on it now. Hopefully he is going to be just fine!
Thanks, Thailyn

For Dr Kimberly Gryl (May 2007)
Hi thank you for responding. I live in Utah. He lives in a very clean environment. His stall is cleaned a few times a day. And he eats very high-grade grass hay. Also his turn out is not grass. The worms look like ascarids. He has the vet here stumped. We are running out of worming options. And like I said he is the only with them. Thank you!! Melissa

For Dr Sales (May 2007)
I thank you so very much for getting back to me. I have lunged him a small amount and he is not lame right now. He still has heat and swelling but I will stop wrapping his legs in hope that the swelling will go away.
He still has heat in the fetlock but I am hoping this is due to the wound not being healed completely.
I will most likely have him x-rayed as I wish to do hunter competitions with him this summer.
Thank you once again for helping clear a few things up for me. They sure aren't easy creatures to figure out sometime.
Tracey
